For instance: Texas Tech finished $200,000 in the hole after the 'honor' of playing on January 1.

Texas 'only' lost $68,000. That's not too shabby, in comparison.

Yup, the "C" in BCS stands for "Crap", and it should be fixed. But I'm also not sure that having the good folks in Washington looking into this is the best idea.

I mean, there should be some other things that take priority, right?

Case in point, DEADSPIN's Daulerio posted about the West Virginia Lawsuit within minutes of my reflection (below), and shared some similar ideas.

Again, I'm not pointing to plagarism.... Deadspin is much MUCH better than that (unlike some people). If you don't read Deadspin, you need to- they are THE leader in online sports commentary and snark.

The Rodriguez v. West Virginia lawsuit hits court today, and boy is it going to be ugly.

However, some of the arguments that RR's lawyers have chosen leave a lot to be desired:

"It's like back before the Civil War when slaves had the right to buy their freedom," said Marv Robon, one of Rodriguez's lawyers. "A penalty of $4 million is almost like a slave from Africa trying to buy his freedom in America. I think it's an outrageous amount. It's just not fair and it's not related to any damages the university is suffering."

Yup, not helping your case much to compare a $4 million buyout that your client agreed to with the institution of slavery. Especially not today.
