Can of worms...

So, replay is supposed to fix college football, right?

Not so fast, my friend.

We've already addressed the fiasco at the Oregon and Oklahoma game. Now another Oklahoma team has replay to blame (in their minds) for their loss.

As you remember, Houston (not that one) was driving and toOSU forced a fumble. The replay official overturned the call, saying that it was not a fumble because forward progress was stopped. In Malibu, a shout of "What in the holy heck was that?" was heard from GPRC E34.

Well, the fallout was predictable. The replay guy has been suspended. Thus sayeth the Lord.

Problem is, we've now opened a Pandora's box, where every college that doesn't agree with the outcomes of various calls is now going public with the tape that proves their point. For your consideration- John L. Smith and the Michigan State Spartans, claiming that the various penalties against MSU during a sideline scuffle were exaggerated based on Charlie Weis' fabricated claims. And he has the tape to prove it.

Nothing was said about the tape to prove why his team let a 31-14 halftime lead dissappear. Maybe it went into the locker room with Coach Paterno.

I guess this is what happens in our reality TV, YouTube world- everything is taped, and everything is second guessed.

I guess I miss the days where it was about what happened between the sidelines and not what happened (or didn't happen) in the video booth. How long until we find out that a coach created "evidence" via his Graduate Assistant in charge of film editing?
