Bush league

Yahoo! Sports is reporting what we've speculated about for a while- Heisman trophey winner Reggie Bush and his family may have accepted more than $100,000 in benefits while he was playing for the Trojans.

Things to note:

1. These were benefits from sports agents, and not directly related to USC (boosters, etc.)
2. Some of the things documented are kind of mickey mouse (limousine rides, etc.), and (in my opinion) are an understandable but stupid part of the NCAA's regulations
3. If true, USC might have to forfeit every game that Bush played in; including both (one) of the national championship(s)
4. If true, Bush may lose his Heisman
5. If true, USC may be placed under sanctions (yeah, right...)

I'm wondering if ESPN will give this story the same type of coverage that tOSU gets every time MoC makes another stupid decision. Given that they just spent a whopping 15 seconds on it during SportsCenter, I'm not hopeful.

Also, (running back coach Todd) McNair allegedly knew of Bush's involvement with the New Era venture before last season's national championship game against Texas, according to two sources. And at one point during the 2005 season, sources say Bush thought that Carroll knew about his parents' living arrangement and feared he was going to conduct his own investigation.

Huh.
