Quick bit on our review of hiring decisions at Division 1 (FBS) institutions, especially regarding African American head coaches.

For this year, the numbers (5/116) remain the same thus far- gained one at Houston, lost one at UCLA, and almost had one bought away at Washington.

Beating the (hiring) holiday rush, Purdue has named the successor to Joe Tiller, and it's Danny Hope from Eastern Kentucky. Also, Florida State has picked Bobby Bowden's replacement: Jimbo Fisher.

And, you guessed it- neither are minority hires.
