Perspective

This Thursday, as you watch Rutgers and Louisville, listen closely to the announcers on ESPN. As they praise the Scarlet Knights for their program's turn around, see if they mention the sacrifices that the University has made in order to be "prestigious".

They won't.

But you'll know anyway, because you'll have read this article: The Price Of Glory for Rutgers

For a summary, New Jersey has cut higher education budgets across the state, yet the football program at Rutgers has seen their budget (and expenditures) grow in astronomical ways. Included in this- their coach, Greg Schiano, is the highest paid state employee, making over one million dollars a year.

And, he's a top candidate to leave and assume a position at another school because of his successes.

Money well spent?
